A Small but Significant Increased Incidence of Acute Pericarditis Identified After Vaccination for SARS-CoV-2

Summary

There was a 4.49 times higher rate of acute pericarditis in vaccinated patients compared to the unvaccinated individuals (p=0.0002). Case-crossover analysis showed the odds of acute pericarditis was 3.33 higher (95% CI: 1.29, 10.14) in the vaccinated versus the unvaccinated group (p=0.01).
